A brief history of Reflexology
Reflexology has a long and fascinating history, dating back to ancient Egypt around 2500 BC.
Evidence suggests that ancient Egyptians used a form of foot and hand therapy for healing. This practice was documented in ancient Egyptian papyrus, which is an ancient form of documentation. Reflexology has also been practiced in ancient China and India, where it was used as a form of therapy and healing.
Modern reflexology is based on these ancient practices. It was popularized in the early 20th century by William Fitzgerald, an American physician, who developed a system of zones on the feet and hands that correspond to different organs and systems in the body.
Eunice Ingham, an American physical therapist, further developed Fitzgerald's work and created the modern system of reflexology that is practiced today.
